Yuki Ando (born 1988, Aichi, Japan) is a ceramic artist based in Shigaraki, Japan. Through his organically-shaped sculptures, Ando strives to connect his work to a sense of contemplative expression and interaction with the natural world. Ando holds a BA degree with a concentration in ceramics from Aichi University of Education, from where he later earned his MFA in Ceramics. Ando’s work has been exhibited in several spaces in Japan, including the Mitsukoshi Art Gallery (Tokyo, Japan), Meguro Gallery of Ceramics (Mie, Japan), and Shirotori Japanese Garden (Aichi, Japan). In the United States, Ando participated in a two-person exhibition with En Iwamura, entitled New Ceramics, at Ross+Kramer Gallery (East Hampton, NY) in 2021 and the Independent Art Fair (New York, NY) in 2022. Since 2014, Ando has worked as an instructor at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park where he is heavily involved in the production of other artists’ work, while simultaneously maintaining his own artistic practice.
